Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens forever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks; It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up forever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste none shall pass through it forever and ever. Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, forever and ever. And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more forever. But Judah shall dwell forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
Forever, For everlasting time; eternally. At all times incessantly. as well as other passages from the scripture are spiritual meanings. The former will pass away never to be brought back to mind. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Is this verse speaking of a city or the people of the city, the Bride of Christ All of this is a matter of interpretation depending on whom you ask. But we must remember that when God makes a covenant it will be fulfilled. That is where I believe that the earth will be destroyed but not as many believe. The things that are offensive to God, the unrighteousness and sin will be burnt up along with mankind that refuse to believe, Armageddon will take place, multitudes will be killed, but the earth will last forever according to the covenants made by God. This earth will pass away, her fortunes, her attitudes, her sins, her way of life. Need more. And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD's house shall be like the bowls before the altar.1 Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts. This is the word of the Lord, and God cannot lie. For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black: because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it. Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing. The late, great, planet earth is gone, never to be remembered forever-more.
